2018 has been very hot this year after following a wet spring. Our swallows were late coming and the behaviour now seems unusual.
We are in the south west of the Peak District in Wincle.
The birds now seem to be preparing to leave. They have been seen on the wires and more importantly they haven’t had late hatchings. Normally they will be feeding young within a few days of leaving us.
There are quite a lot still flying about feeding.
What are other people’s observations? Is it just my swallows that are behaving differently?
