It is a year since I did the first blog for Otters Retreat and for some time it ha been neglected.
It has been a busy year here in Wincle (which is a very attractive village in the Peak District National Park)
We had the Village Fete here in June, a brilliant day and financially very worth while to help finance the local church. Then there was a beer festival at Wincle Brewery with crowds of people over a weekend camping in the fields. We had Danebridge Choir visiting remote farms (and the pub) carol singing and carol services at the Church and at the Brewery.
I suppose that we are fortunate because of our convenient location for access from local towns (Macclesfield, Leek, Buxton and Congleton) and the Peak District in general, we generate lots of visitors.
In fact with Manchester Airport and the M6 Motorway just 40 minutes away and Manchester and Chester just an hour, we are very well placed geographically.
